PISA

WHAT IS PISA?

The Philippine Interisland Shipping Association (PISA) is the umbrella organization of the various sectors in the domestic shipping industry with members from owners/operators of liners, tankers, RORO, tugs and barges, trampers, lighterage, harbor tugs, deep sea fishing as well as marine-related companies such as classification societies, protection and indemnity insurance (P&I), ship building and ship repair, among others.

 

The following associations are affiliated with it:

  • Philippine Liner Shipping Association (PLSA)

  • Philippine Petroleum Sea Transport Association (PHILPESTA)

  • Philippine RORO Operators Association (PHILROA)

  • Lighterage Association of the Philippines (LAP)

 

 

PISA is the recognized voice of the domestic shipping industry in the numerous private and government entities like the  Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), the Board of Investments (BOI), the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Bureau of Customs (BOC), among others, the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI), the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), and the various chambers of commerce affiliated with the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce. It is also the recognized representative of employers in the maritime industry by the Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE) and, as such, it is a member of DOLE’s Maritime Industry Tripartite Council (MITC).
